Elven Statue
In an effort to get myself back into the swing of things after a long break (three months? really?) I decided to finish up this small terrain piece that I started a while back.
The main ingredients in this model are a small wooden cube, a plastic Wood Elf from GW's LOTR range, some foliage/grass and a CD to base it all on. Easy, right?
The figure was painted with a mid grey, then drybrushed up to white, before being washed with diluted Catachan Green paint - my secret weapon when it comes to painting stone. Without it, it always looks terribly lifeless and unreal.
The leaves are real leaves, ground up with a pestle and mortar to produce what hopefully pass for scale leaves. They're the right colour at any rate. Props to Massive Voodoo for their recommendation.
