Inquisitorial Acolyte
Unlike the last set of figures, I know exactly what this figure will be used for. In fact, it's already in use in a Dark Heresy campaign that I'm running.
He's representing an Inquisitorial acolyte - an Inquisitor in training. Since Dark Heresy doesn't support this as a class, I'm using the Soldier class with some of the officer specialisms to represent him.
Those of you who've followed this blog for a long time will recognise the figure from my previous post from 2011. This is the third time I've painted it, and hopefully the last for the foreseeable future.
To keep it from being too overpowered, I switched the weapons from a power sword and plasma pistol to a chainsword and bolt pistol - still rather lethal in Dark Heresy, where a lasgun is a good weapon.
I tried to get a textured finish on the greatcoat by judicious use of stippling and drybrushing, followed by several heavy washes to add proper shading. I'll definitely try the effect again - I've earmarked it for one or two terrain pieces I've got planned.
Up next: more Lord of the Rings, then another character for Dark Heresy...
